Helpful Mods - PDN5's Mix on the Situation

Helpful Moderators” Article by Pleasedonot5
I visited a few random, civilized chat rooms to find out what people thought of helpful moderators.
When I asked what a helpful moderator is, there were many various opinions. The most popular reply was “someone who comes and helps when asked politely.” I strongly disagree with that statement. A moderator is much, much more than that. In my opinion, a moderator is someone who tries their best to keep our wonderful site civilized by giving up much of their personal time.
As a helpful moderator, the majority of users said they’d contribute to the community by keeping a sharp eye out and banning all of the trolls they see. That is not what a helpful moderator is. While banning trolls and spammers is part of their many duties, assisting others is even more important than that. As you can see, there is a flawed public opinion on moderators that needs to be sorted out.
All of the moderators are brilliant, and will help you out when you need assistance. “Modfriend”:http://www.kongregate.com/accounts/Modfriend/friends is a great way to find a moderator when you need help with something. This is not for abuse, only ask for help if you really need it.
